Is 7 Brew still franchising? Not right now. 7 Brew’s own support page says it is not taking new franchise applications. This guide explains what 7 Brew says, what the 2026 FDD rules would mean if applications reopen, and the real ways people still get involved with a 7 Brew today.
Quick answer
No. 7 Brew’s support FAQ says: “At this time, we are not accepting new franchise applications or expressions of interest.” There is no waitlist and no franchise contact (7 Brew support FAQ). If applications reopen, the 2026 FDD (as summarised by FDD Exchange) calls for a deal of at least 10 stores, a $125,000 development fee and $940,500 to $2,283,500 per stand.

Is 7 Brew Still Franchising in 2026?
7 Brew is still a franchise system. Most of its 600+ stands are run by franchisees, and new stands keep opening. What has stopped is the intake of new franchisees. The company’s support page says it is not accepting new franchise applications or expressions of interest.
So the honest answer to “can you franchise a 7 Brew?” is: not by applying to 7 Brew today. New stands are being opened by groups that already hold development deals with the company. If you searched “is 7 Brew still franchising” because you want to open your own stand, the sections below explain what that means in practice.
Why You May See “Apply Now” Anyway
7 Brew’s franchising page still shows an “Apply Now” button and the line “contact us to get an application.” The support FAQ is the more specific statement, and it says applications are closed. When the two disagree, treat the support FAQ as the current position and expect no reply to an application form.
What 7 Brew Says Officially
These are 7 Brew’s own words from its support FAQ, checked on 22 October 2026.
| Question | What 7 Brew says | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Can I apply? | “At this time, we are not accepting new franchise applications or expressions of interest.” | Applications and interest forms are closed. |
| Is there a waitlist? | “We don’t have a contact list or sign-up option at this time.” | You cannot reserve a spot or a territory. |
| Who can I talk to? | “We don’t have a direct contact for franchise inquiries at this time.” | Anyone claiming to be a 7 Brew franchise sales rep is not official. |
| Where are the details? | Franchise information is “published annually” in the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). | The yearly FDD is the only official source of fees and rules. |
Why Has 7 Brew Paused New Franchisees?
7 Brew has not published a reason. The facts below give useful context, but the conclusion is our own reading, not a company statement.
- Fast growth through existing partners. 7 Brew started 2025 with 321 stands and passed 600 by the end of the year, in 38 states, according to its December 2025 announcement, which credits “franchisee-powered growth”.
- Big multi-unit deals. 7 Brew sells development deals, not single stores. Large groups already hold the rights to many future stands. One of them, 7 Crew, had 50 units when Franchise Equity Partners bought into it in 2025 (Franchise Times).
- A higher bar in the 2026 FDD. The minimum deal grew from 5 stores in the 2025 FDD to 10 stores in the 2026 FDD, according to FDD Exchange.
Taken together, it looks like 7 Brew is filling its map through the operators it already has, rather than signing new ones. That could change with any new FDD.
7 Brew Growth by the Numbers
The stand count shows why 7 Brew does not need new franchisees right now. Item 20 of the FDD lists how many outlets were open at the end of each year. These are the totals as reported by FDD Exchange’s summary of the 2026 FDD.
| End of year | Franchised stands | All stands |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 161 | 180 |
| 2024 | 297 | 321 |
| 2025 | 578 | 602 |
In other words, franchised stands nearly doubled in 2025, and almost all 7 Brew stands are franchised. 7 Brew’s own announcement says it had 14 stands in 2019 and passed 600 by the end of 2025. With that much growth already planned through existing groups, closing the door to new applicants is a choice about control and quality, not a sign the brand has stopped growing. That last point is our reading, not a company statement.
2025 vs 2026 FDD: The Rules If Applications Reopen
Many sites still quote old numbers, such as a five-store minimum. Here is how the two most recent FDDs compare. Figures are as reported by FDD Exchange and other FDD summaries; we have not read the full 2026 FDD ourselves.
| Item | 2025 FDD | 2026 FDD |
|---|---|---|
| Total investment per stand (Item 7) | $894,000 to $2,178,500 | $940,500 to $2,283,500 |
| Minimum stores in a deal | 5 | 10 |
| Development fee | $75,000 (5 stores) | $125,000 (10 stores) |
| First-store franchise fee | $35,000 | $35,000 |
| Weekly royalty | 4.5% to 7% (tiered) | 4.5% to 7% (tiered) |
| Brand fund | Up to 2% | Up to 2% |
| Average yearly sales (Item 19) | — | $2,646,063 (297 franchised stands, FY 2025) |
| Median yearly sales (Item 19) | — | $2,550,624 |
Item 19 sales are gross sales, not owner profit. Rent, labour, supplies, royalties and loan payments all come out of that number. For a realistic profit picture, see how much a 7 Brew franchise owner makes.
A 10-store deal at the 2026 Item 7 range works out to roughly $9.4 million to $22.8 million across all ten stands, spread over the development schedule. That is our own illustration from the per-stand range, not an FDD figure. It shows why 7 Brew franchisees are usually investment groups rather than first-time owners.
How to Buy a 7 Brew Franchise While Applications Are Closed
You cannot buy a new 7 Brew franchise from the company right now. These are the routes people use instead. Each one is very different from owning a franchise, so check the trade-offs.
1. Invest in an existing franchise group
Large 7 Brew operators sometimes take on outside investors or partners, as the 7 Crew deal with Franchise Equity Partners shows. These are private deals, usually for experienced restaurant operators or investors with significant capital. You would own a share of a business, not your own stand, and 7 Brew normally has to approve new owners.
2. Own the property, not the franchise
Every 7 Brew is a drive-thru stand on its own lot. Some investors own the land and building and lease it to the operator. This is a real estate investment: you collect rent, not coffee profits, and your return depends on the lease terms and the tenant. Speak to a commercial real estate adviser before buying. Our 7 Brew net lease guide compares real listings, cap rates and ground lease terms.
3. Choose another drive-thru coffee franchise
If you want to run your own drive-thru now, look at brands that are still selling franchises. Our drive thru coffee franchise comparison sets 7 Brew against Scooter’s Coffee, Ziggi’s, The Human Bean and Biggby on cost, fees and sales. Check each brand’s current FDD, because terms change every year.
Be Careful With “7 Brew Franchise for Sale” Offers
Because demand is high and applications are closed, you may see brokers, social media posts or websites offering a 7 Brew franchise or territory. Keep these points in mind:
- 7 Brew says it has no franchise contact and no waitlist. Nobody can sell you a place in line.
- The 2026 FDD gives no exclusive territory, according to VetMyFranchise’s summary of Item 12. Be wary of anyone selling a “protected 7 Brew territory”.
- Buying an existing stand from a franchisee is possible in principle, but franchise agreements normally need the franchisor’s approval for any transfer. Ask for written approval from 7 Brew before paying anything.
- Never send a deposit to reserve a franchise, and have a franchise lawyer review any documents.
When Will 7 Brew Franchise Applications Reopen?
7 Brew says to keep an eye on its website and official announcements. In practice, check three places:
- The 7 Brew support FAQ. The “not accepting applications” line is the clearest signal. When it changes, intake has changed.
- The yearly FDD. 7 Brew publishes it annually. A new FDD can change the minimum store count and fees.
- Official press releases on Business Wire, where 7 Brew posts company news.
We will update this guide on whether 7 Brew is still franchising as soon as its position changes. Meanwhile, you can still prepare: build your finances, line up partners and learn the numbers in our 7 Brew franchise financing guide.
